Intro ----------------------

I personally love gothic/punk fashion. Never get to wear them -mainly cuz of ma mom- but hey, at least I can draw them!

Gothika Club is simply a club that supports Gothic Dark Art. All different types of style is welcomed, starting from Anime, Photo manip, general pencil art, to even Abstractism. Skill does not matter to join this club, but I will be looking for acceptable quality of work from the members. (meaning it has to meet the criteria of the Gothic/Punk Dark Art type; I have my own taste of Dark Art) This club is not Lolita based club; but if you like to draw EGLs, then you are absolutely welcomed! -I luv EGL also; so EGL lovers/drawers are highly supported-

What are EGL [Elegant Gothic Lolita]? ----------------------

Good question. If I describe and identify Lolita in full term, it's way too much and you don't have to know so much since this is not a official Lolita club. Gothika Club vaguely supports the general Dark Art material; EGL illustration, abstract images, photomanipulated materials, and even poetries and writings. But many of the contests and events will offer a chance to illustrate Lolitas, and you might want to know few facts about them.

Basically, Elegant Gothic Lolita is combo of gothic and punk. As Kyla-sama mentioned, "Lolita is an obsession men have with young girls. They enjoy the innocent looking, frilly dresses that they wear." Yes, Lolita is a type of a prostitute. But we are talking about EGLs here. Usually EGLs are NOT prostitutes -my gosh no-, but it's a fashion statement for many Asian girls. They tend to wear black or red, or usually very dark setting of colors. But now adays, there are many different color combinations and Modern Lolitas wear neon colors. Depending on the specific type of Lolita, they wear decorative jewleries, such as celtic cross, gigantic ring, veils, etc. I personally love Gothic Lolita and Angelic Lolita. You can find out much about Lolita fashion just by typing in "Lolita" or "Gothic fashion" in Google or any searh engine. If you wish to buy such items, check Ebay or Hot Topic. -I luv Hot Topic-

What would be considered Dark Art?

Well, well, isn't that a hard question.... I personally explain Dark Art as a style that expresses the subject that most people fear such as death, pain, etc. But Dark Art could also mean basic B&W drawing to Gothic fashion, so there is no limit actually. But I do have my own taste of Dark Art, so I prefer to take a peek at your gallery before accepting your application. So far, all of the applications have been accepted, so if you are not sure about your gallery, go check out the members' gallery!
